BREAKING NEWS | City of Miami Approves Domestic Partnership Ordinance

BREAKING NEWS | City of Miami Approves Domestic Partnership Ordinance |

UPDATE:
Today is a proud day for the City of Miami. I just left the commission chambers where the Miami City Commissioners voted 5-0 to approve an ordinance granting domestic partner healthcare benefits to all city employees.

The lead sponsor, Commissioner Marc Sarnoff, proudly stated that this was the most important piece of legislation he has ever had the honor to sponsor.

The chamber erupted in loud applause when the final vote was cast. There was no opposition.

Thanks to Equality Florida members who attended the hearing early this morning to support the new ordinance, and special thanks to SAVE Dade for leading the effort.
